Our school hosted a Right to Play assembly on February 22,
2017. The assembly talked about the
importance of play with the students and how every student can play their
part. The second part of this program
will involve bringing a group of students to a Right to Play workshop in early
April where students will learn a variety of activities and games that they
will bring back to the school and teach the other students at the school during
lunch hour and recess time. We will be
ending this program in June by celebrating what we learned by hosting a today
we play day where students will have a chance to participate in a variety of
games and sports that they learned about in the previous months.

Gymnastics
-In the month of February, students
will work on the application of basic skills in educational gymnastics by
experiencing, refining, selecting and performing. They will be working on sequences, stunts and tumbling. Gymnastics is a progressive unit and will begin with floor gymnastics, followed by benches and balancing. In the third week of gymnastics the students will have an opportunity to safely utilize the Canadian Climber at CJFS. We will be having mission impossible in the last week of February as a culmination of what we have learned in the unit.
